The Holistic Cannabis Community formed in 2016 to advocate for the cannabis industry. The organization is licensed to cultivate hemp in Florida and supports sustainable cultivation practices rooted in organic principles. We support small businesses and craft growers for effective quality control and strain development.
The 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act removed Hemp, derived from the Cannabis Plant, from the definition of Marihuana therefore removing Hemp (0.3% delta-9 THC) from the federal Schedules of Controlled Substances which means to Unschedule, Decriminalize, and legalize Hemp at the Federal Level. The Cannabis Plant has hundreds of cannabinoids. The two most associated with the plant are delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Prior to the 2018 Farm Bill the DEA did not classify 5% THC or less as a controlled substance.
Our team brought equity to Florida advocating to Legalize Hemp for the Age appropriate 18.8 million Floridians and 253.5M across the U.S.
Thanks to our efforts Florida has a no cost [$0] Hemp Cultivation Licensure Fee to align with agriculture permit practices in the State. Background screenings are required for Hemp Cultivators pursuant to the 2018 federal farm Bill. Background screenings check for Felony Drug Convictions within the last 10 years.
