March 4, 2025 – The Florida House of Representatives Combined Workgroup on Hemp presented data based on the implementation of the “Total THC Concentration” formula. In 2023, the Florida hemp economy estimates were at $1Billion. Within three years – “Total THC Concentration” formula enforcement actions began – first targeting hemp cultivators, and in mid to late 2024, expanding to hemp retailers and distributors.

The Result the Florida Legislature expects a $1.5 Billion shortfall in FY 2026-2027. Most licensed hemp cultivators are on hiatus and nearly half of the 10,000+ small hemp businesses closed.
